Why I Use The Tarot

Sometimes, when I am doing work for an Astrology client, a ‘different perspective’ can be helpful. This is where I may look to the Tarot.

At other times, the Tarot may be all I refer to.

The Tarot, as a form of divination, allows one to receive instant ‘feedback’ from the Universe. At best, I believe it can provide a link to the personal unconscious or one’s ‘higher self’ and as such can be regarded as a very ‘pure’ source of information.

Part of the beauty of using the Tarot is the simplicity of the process. Whereas with Astrology, I have a potential sea of information from which to draw my understandings, with the Tarot I am able to quickly ‘zero in’ on the most vital elements in a situation. This is why I find it complements my work with Astrology so well.

I strongly believe in not looking too far ahead – at any given time – when I am asking it a question about a particular issue. I ask for: ‘recent past, present and immediate future.’ When one asks to know something too far ahead, it is as though one were abdicating responsibility for one’s own life and for creating one’s own future, and this is something that no responsible Tarot practitioner should encourage.

When I ask the Tarot about the ‘immediate future’ of a situation, if my client is not happy with the answer, they may be able to take steps to remedy, or at least improve, the situation. With the Tarot, it is possible to test potential courses of action – and their likely outcomes.

Through my work with the Tarot, I seek to encourage my clients to take charge of their own lives; to play an active role in creating the kind of future that they want for themselves – assuming it is in harmony with the Universe.
